DestructoidAll Status Effects in Crimson Moon and how they work
Indie title Crimson Moon has various Status Effects that will dictate how your builds largely work. The Status Effects are an impact of gameplay actions that trigger during combat. Both you and your enemies can trigger them based on the types of attacks and build in discussion. Recommended Videos In this guide, I will go through a quick explainer about what each Status Effect means in the game. All Crimson Moon Status Effects explained The table below has a list of every known Status Effect you’ll find inside the game. Image via ProbablyMonsters Status EffectHow it WorksBleedOnce you inflict Bleed, the enemy will keep taking damage over time. The amount of damage it takes depends on your build, and the same goes for how long the bleed status lasts.BurnSimilar to Bleed, Burn forces the enemies to take damage over time. The damage is based on the number of Fire stacks you have inflicted, and the effect can be deactivated by using dodge rolls.FrostIf the enemy takes Frost stacks, they will slow down and also take bonus damage.FrozenFrozen works in tandem with Frost. Once an enemy gets hit with Frost stacks, they will become frozen. Being frozen stops their movement and ability to perform any physical actions.MarkedOnce the target is Marked, it will take higher critical damage from hits. To enhance the effect, you should target this modifier with crit-focused builds.PoisonPoisoned enemies will take increased damage over time and the extent of the damage depends on the number of inflicted stacks. RageRage stacks can raise the amount of damage the target does. This is more of a positive status effect since it will increase the damage capacity of an individual.SunderanceEnemies hit with this status effect will take increased damage from all kinds of attacks. They will also have lower resistance to other status effects. Aside from weapons, Arts and Boons will also dictate the Status Effects in play. While some effects activate immediately, others might require a minimum number of active stacks.
DestructoidHow to play The Blood of Dawnwalker early (New Zealand Trick)
The Blood of Dawnwalker releases worldwide today, and you can get a few hours of extra gameplay on your console. While the game doesn’t have any early access, you can exploit the regional launch schedule on consoles. Recommended Videos Let’s find out how you can get few extra hours of gameplay without spending anything extra. Table of contentsHow to play The Blood of Dawnwalker early on XboxHow to play The Blood of Dawnwalker early on PlayStation How to play The Blood of Dawnwalker early on Xbox Before I explain the process, please note that this can be only done on consoles. The process is easier to emulate on Xbox compared to PlayStation. The PC launch has a different schedule. Image via Rebel Wolves Go to the main console settings. Go to the dedicated settings that allow you to change your time. Change it to the one applicable for New Zealand. Restart your console. When you turn on your console, you’ll find that the region has changed to New Zealand and it follows the same schedule. Now, you’ll be able to play the game early (as long as it’s past midnight in the island nation). How to play The Blood of Dawnwalker early on PlayStation While you can try the New Zealand trick on PlayStation, the process is more difficult. Moreover, you will have to buy the game once again, which makes the entire thing quite cumbersome. Create a PlayStation account with region set of New Zealand. Proceed with a payment option that works in New Zealand. Purchase The Blood of Dawnwalker on the account. Suffice to say, it’s best to simply wait for the game to go live. If you have already purchased The Blood of Dawnwalker on your main PlayStation account, spending extra for few more hours of gameplay makes little sense.

Here’s where to find each one. One Stitch Popcorn Bucket can be found sitting on a metal table in an outdoor dining area behind the cafe. You can find this one by heading left from the train station area and walking over to the small, gated patio right next to the brick building with a coffee sign on it. One Stitch Popcorn Bucket can be found just past the archway for Alice’s Curious Labyrinth. To find this one, head to the castle in the middle of Main Street, then go left to find the grassy archway. Walk under it and look down to your right to find the bucket. One Stitch Popcorn Bucket can be found in front of the futuristic superhero house near some green aliens from Toy Story. You can find this one by heading right from the train station area and looking down near the large white building to the right of Alien Pizza Planet. DestructoidWhat time is it on the Parks Floating Festival island in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
A rather curious Parrot has a complex test for you to complete in the Parks Floating Festival event in Disney Dreamlight Valley. One of the tricky questions this critter asks you to solve is what time it is on the event island. Recommended Videos Outside of this event, you’ve never been tasked with figuring out the time before. And while you might expect it to line up with your actual local time, this isn’t the right answer for the quiz. It can be pretty difficult to work through on your own, so here’s how to figure out what time it is on the Parks Floating Festival island in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Table of contentsHow to find the time on the Parks Floating Festival island in Disney Dreamlight ValleyParks Floating Festival island time in Disney Dreamlight Valley How to find the time on the Parks Floating Festival island in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot by Destructoid You can find the time on the Parks Floating Festival event island by checking out a clock in the Main Street area. While the actual in-game time is synced with your own time zone, this special island is a bit different and instead is stuck at a particular time marked on all clocks found around the area. When working on Parks Festival Quiz Puzzle #6 with the Parrot, you’re told that the train station can help you figure out the time on the island. This is technically true, as there is a clock situated way high up on the entrance over the train station, as is pictured above. The train station clock, though, is quite far away, very small, and overall, rather tough to read from any angle you try to view it. Luckily, there’s a much more accessible clock you can hunt down and view for this task instead. Walk down the Main Street area that runs right through the middle of the event island. Look for the bright blue and white Confectionery building located near the end of the street, close to the castle. Right next to this store, you’ll spot a black clock by some benches and bushes. This clock has the event time on it and is a lot easier to read. The exact same clock can also be found right next to Oswald’s cinema, so you can view it there, too. Screenshot by Destructoid Parks Floating Festival island time in Disney Dreamlight Valley It’s 5:00 on the Parks Floating Festival event island. It doesn’t specify whether it’s morning or evening, but for the purposes of the quiz, this doesn’t matter. All clocks you can find around the island are permanently fixed at this time, which means it’s the correct answer to give the Parrot when completing the Parks Festival Quiz Puzzle #6. If you’re up for it, there’s a lot more to tackle in this event. Next, you may want to work on Jungle Critter Combination Puzzle #4, Adventureland Trash Bins Plastic Scrap Puzzle #1, Adventureland Entrance Puzzle #3, and Carnivorous Plants Puzzle #2.
DestructoidBest Crimson Moon graphics settings for no lag and max FPS
Indie title Crimson Moon is now available on PC, and there is a fair bit of tweaking you will have to do to get the best performance. The gameplay on the first day seems pretty exciting. I have encountered a few graphical issues, and the Steam reviews also suggest the same. Recommended Videos Most of the problems went away when I made tweaks to the in-game settings. For this guide, I have focused more towards settings that will suit players whose systems are closer to the minimum requirements. Display Mode: Personal preference Resolution: Should match the native resolution of your monitor. Vertical Sync: Off. Only turn this on if you’re still getting stutters and frame drops. Motion Blur: Off Frame Rate Limit: 60 FPS. This feels like a sweet spot, and going above it caused few stutters in certain stages. Graphics Quality: Custom Resolution Scale: 70% Global Illumination Quality: Low Shadows: Low Anti Aliasing: Medium Draw Distance: Close Texture Resolution: Medium Visual Effects: Low Reflections: Low Post Processing: Medium (Reduce this to Low if you’re getting frame drops) Upscaler: None. However, use this as required. If you’re getting frame drops, using an Upscaler is recommended. Frame Generator: None Low Latency Mode: None. Limiting the frame rate smoothened the gameplay, so that should be the first area for you to check out. I am also expecting at least a few post launch patches to remove the issues that I and other players have encountered.

DestructoidRockstar’s official support for GTA 5 roleplay is making some think GTA 6 Online isn’t coming anytime soon
Remember the good old days of Grand Theft Auto 5 roleplay utterly taking over Twitch? Recommended Videos Top streamers across the world would log in and create drama through RP, creating their own legion of viewers, storylines, and TV show-like experiences. It’s continued since, and now it’s officially being recognized by Rockstar Games, and the newest version will be found natively in the studio’s own game launcher. The latest iteration of nopixel RP, nopixel V, has been created in collaboration with Rockstar Games. In the past, it was up to modders themselves to get the RP up and going, but now Rockstar is fully on board, and it’s even introducing Twitch drops to celebrate its launch next week. “For years, we’ve seen the exciting possibilities and passion that the creator community brings to expand upon the worlds of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2,” Rockstar said. “GTA 5 Roleplay is one prominent example of how creators have brought their signature blend of creativity to these experiences and have pioneered new ways to play and watch our games.” On paper, it’s an awesome win for creators now that the game’s devs are on board. I’ve never played RP myself, but I’ve previously found a lot of joy watching RP streamers have fun with it throughout the years. Unfortunately, some are looking at things from the GTA 6 angle, as you may expect, and seeing this news as confirmation that the new GTA 6 Online is not coming any time soon. Rockstar has not yet mentioned anything about GTA 6’s online component. GTA Online for GTA 5, meanwhile, launched two weeks after the main game. That seems like it won’t be happening this time, and with the focus on the older game continuing for now, some fans are worried that it means the new one is months, if not years, away. Just check the replies to Rockstar’s post today. I’m choosing to look at the glass half full here for a second, because if Rockstar is fully embracing RP and modding, then GTA 6 Online may have it already taken into consideration or even built in whenever it does release. That would also require a PC launch, however, and that’s also not coming for a while. It’s anyone’s guess when the new GTA Online will come out, but given how GTA 5’s online mode has consistently brought in many millions of dollars every year since it launched, it’s a safe bet that the new game will be getting it too… when it’s ready. And nothing about that is confirmed yet, so for now, offline Vice City will have to suffice (and there are likely dozens, if not hundreds, of hours already awaiting us this November as it is). For nopixel V and its selected members, the immediate future is bright. Twitch drops from Sept. 8 to 30 include $1.5 million in GTA Online money and a Burger Shot tracksuit cosmetic item, so the viewership is likely to be quite high to begin with. Add in the fact that Rockstar said “some familiar faces” will be “reprising fan-favorite characters and new personalities beginning their own stories.” Sounds like some of the site’s bigwigs will be coming back. Stay tuned.
DestructoidDon’t play GTA 6 if you want to keep your girlfriend, according to social media
A concerned collective of wives, fiancées, and girlfriends is taking to social media with a clear recommendation for anyone currently in a committed relationship with a gamer: “If your significant other plays Grand Theft Auto VI, break up with them.”Recommended Videos This blunt, terrifying message is rolling out in response to the announcement that GTA 6 features a deep relationship-building system that directly influences the connection between the game’s protagonists, Lucia and Jason. Through simple acts like sending supportive texts, setting aside time for dates, or committing crimes together, players can actively write Jason and Lucia’s love story page-by-page. While most gamers (of all genders) can’t wait to be the hand that guides this relationship, some of their female partners are less than enthused by the idea. And they’re expressing their opinion loud and clear on social media. Across TikTok and other social media platforms, a small but outspoken group of “gaming girlfriends” are declaring their disgust with GTA 6‘s relationship system, arguing that it “forces” their partner to enter a committed relationship with a fictional character. Some, like TikToker EL Michelle, have openly declared the game a “cheating simulator.” Other TikTok users have been far more vocal in their castigation of GTA 6, and they’ve issued less-than-veiled threats to their partners about what they’ll do if they catch them playing it. In one such video, creator diaryofasalesgirl boldly declared, “In absolutely no human way is my fiancé playing GTA 6,” lambasting the game for featuring romantic and sexual content at all and saying games like it are “lowkey” making the male population dumber. To no one’s surprise, the response to these declarations has been pretty wild. Some commenters echo their opinions, but others argue their stance on GTA 6 paints them as insecure, controlling partners. A few comments even accuse the women of feeling threatened by the game’s surprisingly healthy take on romance, implying that playing GTA 6 might inspire their partners to ask uncomfortable questions about their behavior. No matter where you stand on this “issue”, romance in video games is not a new, shocking development. Phantasy Star III on the Sega Genesis brought the two together all the way back in 1990, and one look at Steam should be enough to remind you that dating simulators are some of the most popular games out there right now. If anything, GTA 6‘s insistence that communication, honesty, and being present and attentive whenever you’re spending time together are the building blocks of a healthy relationship is actually pretty groundbreaking. It’s certainly a bit more realistic and educational than giving your virtual partner a gift once in a while. If you’re someone who feels a bit threatened by the idea of your partner playing GTA 6, maybe it’s time the two of you have a talk about your relationship. Be brave, be open-minded, and maybe try to trust that your partner won’t leave you for a video game character.
DestructoidI played Paradox’s new GSG Afterworld for an hour, and that was enough to give me withdrawal symptoms
Last week at Gamescom, Paradox Interactive gave me the amazing opportunity to play Afterworld, its first original IP since Stellaris, and produced by a mixture of amazing developers from that game as well as veterans from Crusader Kings 3 and other Paradox GSGs. Recommended Videos And I’m more than happy to say that Afterworld is by far one of my favorite games Paradox has ever made, and I only played it for less than an hour. The preview opened up with a presentation of sorts, giving us the long and short of what Afterworld is, leaving me with about 45 minutes of game time. And those 45 minutes were enough to give me withdrawal symptoms as soon as I put the game down. The game zooms in on all the action, taking liberal inspiration from Stellaris in how it unfolds its post-apocalyptic North America. Your tribe starts off as a band, but it can absorb other groups to eventually become a nation of its own. Image via Paradox Interactive Each nation picks an origin, akin to origins and histories you could craft for your nation in Stellaris, and the one I played with gave me control over a group of Shelter Dwellers (yes, really) who had finally emerged out of their underground hideouts and ventured out to repopulate the ruins of the United States. Your first steps in Afterworld revolve around exploring the world, and exploration is, again, very akin to how it’s done in Stellaris, only that it’s all super zoomed in and provides visual context for everything in contrast to Stellaris‘ opposite approach. You explore areas; each area has a set amount of available resources and is plagued by specific ailments like radiation, and then you can either settle areas permanently or simply stay for a while before packing up and migrating elsewhere. In my case, I set up shop near a nuclear reactor – not a very good idea – and then tried to make the area my permanent home of operations. The issue is that I quickly ran out of water, and I was out of it for quite a while. My explorers could not, for whatever reason, discover a water-rich area, and it took 70 percent of my population dying of thirst before I finally settled a new place that had, believe it or not, a refreshing reservoir. The tech tree has a bunch of general techs that you can unlock, but completing missions and exploring is necessary to progress further. Image via Paradox Interactive Your survival thus depends heavily on the environment and AI-controlled factions, which can come in the form of bands and gangs that roam the afterworld or permanently settled nations, which themselves can range from traditional Paradox’s settled countries to powerful empires akin to Fallen Empires from Stellaris, only that these are much more active and involved and do not need to wait for end-game crises to start doing anything. You can invite other bands and gangs whom you meet to become part of your tribe, while explorers can venture out into the world to rediscover lost technologies like guns or even tanks and eventually advanced sci-fi weaponry and tech. To do any of these things, though, or advance your nation in a meaningful way, you need to progress down your tech tree. Some techs are inherently available to advance, but they take more time if you’re too far ahead of the curve, similar to how things were in Europa Universalis IV. However, some technologies require specific missions or discoveries to be made, putting an extra emphasis on research and exploration. Survival being such a core component of early gameplay also means you can very easily gain access to slavery, cannibalism, and every other brutal and gruesome “idea” and “technology” and “institution,” and Paradox really did not put any filters on the post-apocalypse when it comes to Afterworld. In fact, I’d say this is Paradox at its most unbridled, and that only helps sell this catastrophic setting. Events, and the flavor they bring, are genuinely amazing, and can be the start of something great or a grim omen of what’s to come. Image via Paradox Interactive Missions crop up all the time, and by following them, you can really start to gain access to powerful tech, but be mindful of your bands and gangs: they have their own needs and necessities, which you have to meet or even exceed in meeting to make your pops a lot more satisfied. What I got a taste of in the preview, too, was warfare. Again, it is very similar to Stellaris, but the zoomed-in focus on minute details meant I could watch a bunch of my gang members chasing down a lone explorer over ruined American plains, and that was really a sight to behold. The loop of exploring, settling, migrating, and even fighting in Afterworld, as well as the incredible amount of narrative detail that the game has, simply had me yearning for more and more and more. It’s been a week since I played it, and I still think about it all the time, and I genuinely cannot tell you how good of an experience Afterworld actually was. It’s still early in development, that much is certain, but with how fitting this zoomed-in approach is to the details offered by Stellaris and now Afterworld, something tells me this could turn out to be Paradox Interactive’s best grand-strategy game by a long shot.

And believe it or not, this does constitute as news for the game since it’s been missing in action for quite some time. “This cast killed it!” the studio teased. “Cannot wait to show you their incredible work when the time is right!” Does this mean the game is close to completion? Maybe not, but it’s something. And we’ve all been waiting to see more since the game was revealed in December 2024, so even if this is all we get, it’s an update that’s been long in the making. Coincidentally (or maybe not?), the new update comes just a few days before a new PlayStation State of Play event, which is due to go live on Thursday morning, Sept. 3 at 8am CT. It’s real easy to get your hopes up that it may appear then, and I think it easily could, since the game seems fit for a potential 2027 release date. If you ask me, now’s a good a time as any to drop a new trailer, gameplay, or anything to reveal a launch window and get players excited again for the studio’s first new game in the PS5 generation (seriously). But no one at Sony or the studio asked me, so we’ll have to wait and see what’s what. Despite the fumbling of this whole generation by Sony, Naughty Dog is still a widely respected developer, and Intergalactic has my full interest, mainly out of intrigue at this point. It would be great to see something soon, but I’m also not going to get my hopes up too much, especially considering Sony has confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Revelation will be the focal point at this particular State of Play. Maybe The Game Awards again, then? Oh, who the hell knows.
DestructoidStar Wars: Zero Company is great. ‘Most’ of its devs got sent home without pay anyway
Star Wars: Zero Company is one of the most well-received titles of many games born from the sci-fi franchise over the years. For many of its developers, it matters not.Recommended Videos Around “80 percent of the team” at studio Bit Reactor was furloughed “weeks ago,” according to a report by Stephen Totilo, with just a “skeleton crew” left behind to work on the game and address bugs that may pop up after launch. Image via Bit Reactor Totilo said a representative for Bit Reactor confirmed the furloughs yesterday, saying that it was the decision of the studio alone and not from either Star Wars owner Disney or the game’s publisher Electronic Arts. Bit Reactor formed in 2021 and has apparently “run out of most of its money” according to the report, which is a real head-scratcher considering the big IP it worked on, but it may have more to do with a lawsuit than the game’s success or failure. Totilo said the lawsuit is “a she-said/he-said about whether [studio co-founder] Alison Kelly, until 2024 the chief operating officer of Bit Reactor, was a co-owner of the studio or whether it was solely owned by Greg Foertsch.” And so the workers pay the price in the end, as is normally the case. The Bit Reactor rep told Totilo that the studio “hoped to bring furloughed workers back with restored pay, suggesting that a successful launch of the game could be impactful.” Let’s hope that this is indeed the case, since the game is being received quite well. A top-selling game on Steam during its launch week, Zero Company was made by many people who worked on games like XCOM and Marvel’s Midnight Sons. The strategy RPG has an 85 critic score on Metacritic, and the sentiment around it has been very positive. Destructoid received a review code the day before launch, so I’ve been gradually playing through it alongside some other games, and it’s certainly scratching that XCOM itch.
DestructoidUltimate Grand Blue Tier List – Best Fruit & Race
The goal here is to eventually rank every aspect of your build in Grand Blue so that you can select the best options from each category for what you’re going for. That said, the Chop fruit is also underrated for a specific reason as you’ll see below in the ranking explanations. How to get Fruit: You get Cursed Fruits from Fruit Chests which you can get from Codes (Linked at the bottom), certain quests like the early Wizard quest or buy them in the Shop with Robux or Celestial coins which you can get from Achievements and treasure quests. S-Tier Fruits FruitRanking NotesDarknessCelestial• The best PVP fruit in the game and competes with Flame as the best PVE fruit• The main reason it’s so good besides top tier DPS is the CC effects like pulling a group of mobs with Black Hole to AOE them down or pulling players with Vortex for combos• Plus Dark Matter deals the best burst damage in the game FlameMythic• Melts enemies and bosses and is the best PVE fruit with incredible scaling for end-game• That said it’s decent for PVP too since you have sustain with Fireflies• Overall the top 2 fruit following DarknessChopEpic• Chop is the third best fruit in Grand Blue and the reason is massive defense• You get resistance to slashing damage which is pretty much the majority of what both the PVE enemies and players are using• It doesn’t have the best damage but you get so much utility and range• Plus it combos well with other skills due to its stuns A-Tier Fruits FruitRanking NotesBombEpic• A mini Flame/Darkness in terms of AOE damage but still quite good for PVE farming• It’s the best beginner fruit you can getWolfLegendary• Wolf deals pretty great damage with the Bleed and is pretty good for PVP• It lacks AOE options that Darkness, Flame and Bomb have for PVE but it still deals impressive damage• If you get it early on a lucku Fruit Chest role consider going for a Strength build with a sword comboStrengthRare• Similar to Wolf but a bit weaker• Still good if you don’t have higher tier fruits as long as you combine it with other melee combat skills• In PVP, it’s great against the Chop fruit B-Tier Fruits FruitRanking NotesDrainRare• Weaker overall damage but you get sustain which is nice in PVE and PVP• It’s good against single strong enemies and PVP if you can land the moves• That said in terms of pure DPS, it gets overwhelmed by higher tier fruitsSpikeRare• Weaker overall damage but great range and you have some AOE options• A decent beginner fruit that you want to replace later onCannonUncommon• Weaker than Rares and above but you do get some good beginner moves for PVE farming which is nice• Use it early and try to replace later on C-Tier Fruits FruitRanking NotesSpinUncommon• The weakest fruit in the game in terms of both DPS and synergy• I would try to get at least Cannon early on or better yet if you get lucky Bomb fruit Grand Blue Race Tier List When it comes to best races in Grand Blue the choice is very simple as you can see in the tier list. There’s just not a lot of variance in power when it comes to races with the two in S-Tier being must-haves. The rest are just varying degrees of situational usefulness and aren’t ideal. How to Change Race: You can only change your race from the Customize Character screen in the main menu of the game once you start up Grand Blue (Provided you have Race Rerolls from codes and other sources). S-Tier Races RaceRanking NotesHumanCelestial Variant• The best race in the game since you get an OP pet that you can stack skills and fruits on• It fights for you and overall provides a ton of pressure in both PVE and PVP• The discount isn’t bad either but it’s just a cherry on top compared to a personal guardBeastfolkCat & Bunny Variants• Both variants are really good for overall PVE and you get even better at PVP during night• Sulong is really strong and once you level it to 10 you don’t get the self-debuff anymore• Either way there’s a huge gap between Celestial/Beastfolk and other races in terms of power A-Tier Races RaceRanking NotesSkyfolk• Skyfolk and Dwarf immediately start being situational in terms of power compared to the two races above• Still, Skyfolk offers decent mobility for PVP with the extra dash and you can land some attacks while airborne for a little damage bumpDwarf• Dwarf is weaker than Skyfolk but it’s cooldown reduction does boost DPS a little compared to the B-Tier races• Plus you get some progression boosters and more HP which isn’t much but still better than B-Tier and below B-Tier Races RaceRanking NotesHuman (Half Fish) & Seafolk• Half Fish Human is just a better version of Seafolk and both are very situational with their swimming effects• The only usable buff here is the small damage boost which is very situational to get value out ofHumanLong Armed Variant• The extra reach sometimes gives you value for catching someone in a combo but still it’s very rareHumanLong Legged Variant• You’ll sometimes dodge certain PVP attacks that you otherwise wouldn’t but it’s not worth keeping C-Tier Races RaceRanking NotesHuman• Beginner race that you should reroll as soon as you can That’s it for my . You can grab an easy Fruit Chest or trait/race rerolls right now and more with Grand Blue codes, they will drastically speed up your early progression.

DestructoidBest Roblox song IDs
Updated: January 8, 2026We looked for new codes! Recommended Videos There’s just something about listening to your favorite music in a public setting and forcing it upon the ears of others. Roblox has turned this real-world nuisance into a series of games on its platform. Using a database of uploaded songs, players can input Song IDs to blast their song of choice directly into the ears of strangers all over the world. Here are some of the best. Table of contentsBest songs for Roblox 2025How to search for Song IDs in RobloxHow to use music codes in RobloxCan I create custom music playlists in Roblox? Best songs for Roblox 2025 Prior to a change in March 2022, users could upload virtually any audio file and have it be playable in any game that supported the boombox via a Song ID. The change retroactively made any audio longer than six seconds private. This meant that if you weren’t the person who had originally uploaded the audio file, you would no longer be able to play or hear the sound. Screenshot by Destructoid This means the vast majority of Song ID repositories are now functionally useless, and users have been restricted to a much smaller selection of songs and sound clips of varying quality. One important thing to know is that there’s no guarantee that any individual Song ID may work, as they can be made private by either Roblox staff or the user who uploaded it. Below are 30 absolute bangers to entertain yourself and possibly others around you. I have personally confirmed that each is working at the time of this writing. Go forth, aspiring DJs! After you find a song, you can get its ID through ‘More Info.’ Discover the correct number from your URL. For instance, mine came out to ‘create.roblox.com/store/asset/75793628822368/Mirage-Portal.’ Thus, the bolded numbers would be utilized as the Song ID. How to use music codes in Roblox Playing music in Roblox varies in each game, as they all have different methods. Sometimes, it can cost money with Robux, while other times, it doesn’t cost a thing. To play music for free, play Catalog Heaven, a game that allows you to customize your avatar and battle nearby bases. Once you start playing, select ‘Catalog’ and type in Boombox. There will be a few choices here, including the Boombox Gear 3.0 and Golden Super Fly Boombox. Choose one of them to trigger a prompt to enter Roblox music codes. Screenshot by Destructoid Tap on the Boombox again if you want to change songs. You can also stop the music by unequipping it in your inventory. Besides Catalog Heaven, you can see if other games permit music. I discovered that Jailbreak features a Car Stereo mechanic, costing 200 Robux. With this title, you can type in ‘R’ or tap the radio on the bottom-right corner of the screen. Then, enter any Song ID you prefer to listen to some tunes on Jailbreak. Screenshot by Destructoid For the most part, it seems like Roblox titles that use music codes require a subscription pass. Therefore, if you’re unsure whether your game is compatible, check the title’s Subscription & Passes section to see if there’s a radio or stereo feature. Can I create custom music playlists in Roblox? Only Roblox game developers can create custom music playlists. It’s associated with a tool used in scripting to create soundtracks for various worlds. If you’re a player, you must manually enter each ID to make your own version of a playlist.

I have made things simpler for you by decoding what must be done. Kill five Cleaners in Judiciary Square Screenshot by Destructoid Head to the Judiciary Square location and look for a task that has Cleaners. If you refer to the image above, you will get an idea of the kind of tasks you will need to find. In simple words, you have to kill just five Cleaners at any in-game difficulty, and all types count. There is no restriction on the type of activity that you have to participate in for completing this task. The first task of the second week continues on the overall theme of the new season. Secure the Ellipse Fuel Depot Control Point Screenshot by Destructoid Head to the Capital, where you will find the Ellipse Fuel Depot control point. Start your assault by requesting other allies to join the fight. Clear the first wave of enemies, and you can then begin recapturing the control point. A second wave will try to thwart your efforts, and this will include elite enemies. Kill all of them to complete your takeover of the control point. You can complete this task at any difficulty you want, but playing at higher levels will allow you to get better rewards. Secure any Control Point in Downtown East Screenshot by Destructoid The Downtown East District has four different control points you have to secure and capture. You can reduce the in-game difficulty to make things easier for you. Once the first wave is defeated, the next wave will arrive to try to stop your efforts. Clear both webs of enemies and kill all of them to complete your takeover, and this will officially finish with week two of this season’s Manhunt.

DestructoidGaming devs and publishers reportedly have ‘a lot of resentment’ for Sony’s handling of physical disc death
There are rumblings that third-party publishers are quite unhappy with PlayStation’s announcement to end disc-based games in 2028, and those rumblings are getting louder.Recommended Videos The rumors began recently and got louder in the wake of gamescom as it’s been the first major games industry event. A recent Nash Weedle report said that the backlash to Sony’s decision had generated enough noise at the event that it was openly being talked about in Cologne. Image via PlayStation “Things from the gamescom backstage are starting to reach me; they tell me that the public’s reactions, despite what Sony wants to make it seem, have indeed sparked controversial internal reactions,” they said (via translation). “On a marketing level, it’s having an impact, and they’re going to make changes in communication and planning. Plus, some third-party studios are temporarily choosing not to tie themselves to PlayStation.” But that was just the beginning. Today, The Washington Post’s Gene Park echoed that sentiment after Digital Foundry’s John Linneman also had similar things to say on a new episode of the DF Direct Weekly podcast. Basically, it sure sounds like the uproar is becoming harder and harder to fully ignore. “This was the first event I’ve been able to attend since the discontinuation of discs were announced, and I spoke to a lot of developers and publisher people about it, and they were largely very upset,” Linneman said. “A lot of these companies see a lot of return, in fact a majority, through physical sales. And I feel like this is really going to affect a lot of businesses, and obviously, the big partners, the big AAA studios don’t care. They’re fine. But this is gonna have some pretty negative effects and I get the feeling that a lot of these companies, they really wanna put their weight behind the Switch 2 now, and sort of try to keep that alive.” Will this change anything as far as the end of physical media? That still remains to be seen, but you’d have to think that there are some tough conversations happening at PlayStation if their third-party partners are genuinely pissed off, and they have plenty reason to be given the near-unanimous anger in the community since the hugely controversial July 1 announcement. “The industry side of things is not positive right now about what’s happening,” Linneman said. “There seems to be a lot of resentment for what Sony has done and what they’re doing, and I’ll be curious to see if that actually manifests in any way that’s tangible, so we’ll see.” Sony will host a State of Play presentation this Thursday, and gamers around the world will be tuning in to see if the company has any updates on its decision. I wouldn’t count on it, but the news that the industry itself is pissed may make some changes necessary in the long run.

Whenever a collab is announced, players debate who should get skins, but for the most part, they seem to be happy with the selection this time around. From left to right in the image above, it’s Mizuki, Freja, D.Mon, Anran, Sierra, and Moira. Four of the six are new characters that have been introduced this year, while Freja and Moira have big fanbases of their own and don’t get many great skins too often. Of course, not everyone is happy. New hero Shion has many fans upset that she hasn’t gotten a skin for the collab, but you truly can’t please everyone. I am also let down that we have not yet gotten a sassy LSF Reinhardt skin featuring a giant “FIMBONG” light stick hammer. Maybe next time. Next weekend’s BlizzCon return is years in the making, and it’s expected some new projects and announcements will be shown off on top of the skins, a live stream from BlizzCon presumably featuring the Fimmies, and more. The collab is extensive again this time around, with teasers from the group showing Omnic Gwishin enemies included in the fray. Image via Blizzard Entertainment It’s no secret that I also love LE SSERAFIM and will try to be as close to the stage as I can for the Sunday performance, and I apologize in advance if the stage mics picks up my singing.
DestructoidMarvel Snap’s AXIS: Inversion September season reimagines heroes as villains, and vice versa
A whopping nine new cards will hit Marvel Snap in September 2026 for its AXIS: Inversion season, inverting heroes and villains and maybe even more.Recommended Videos Inverting good and evil? That’s very Marvel. With the multiverse at its disposal, Marvel Snap is turning heroes into villains and villains into heroes for the hell of it, and it sounds fun. What if Tony Stark went bad? What if Magneto and Carnage went fully good? That’s what these cards are all about. Check out the slideshow below to see the art for each card: And here’s a detailed roadmap showcasing when each card is coming, how to get them, and what they do: Sept. 1 Superior Iron Man (Premium Pass) 5 Cost, 7 Power “Double Cost reductions to this. Ongoing: Double Power increases to this.” Anti-Polar Magneto (Super Premium Pass) 6 Cost, 9 Power “On Reveal: Add a 3 or 4-Cost card from your hand to each other location.” Red Onslaught (Series 5 Snap Pack) 4 Cost, 4 Power “Ongoing: Has 3 random Ongoing abilities.” Sept. 8 Kluh (Series 5 Snap Pack) 5 Cost, 10 Power “On Reveal: EACH player randomly gives a card in their hand -1 Cost for each different Cost among their cards in play.” Sept. 15 Rogue: Scion of Division (Series 5 Snap Pack) 5 Cost, 5 Power “On Reveal: Steal the text of the highest-Cost card in your opponent’s hand.” Sept. 16 Entropic Havok (Team Clash Limited Time Event Series 4) 3 Cost, 3 Power “Each turn, steal 1 bonus Energy from your opponent. (if they have any)” Sept. 22 Friendly Neighborhood Carnage (Series 5 Snap Pack) 3 Cost, 4 Power “On Reveal: Move your other cards here to the right. +2 Power for each moved.” Sept. 28 The Inversion (Draft Limited Time Event Series 4) 3 Cost spell “On Reveal: Invert the Power of the lowest-Power card(s) here (positive becomes negative and vice versa).” Sept. 29 Scarlet Witch: Queen of Chaos (Series 5 Snap Pack) 3 Cost, 4 Power Start of Turn: Add an EXTREMELY random skill to your hand. It costs 0 this turn. New playable locations are also coming, along with Twitch drops to earn a Premium Mystery Variant and more. The popular Draft mode returns later in the month on Sept. 28, and it’ll have a new scoring system along with it. Basically, there’s no shortage of content to look forward to each week if you’re a fan of Snap.
DestructoidDraft mode will return to Marvel Snap sooner than expected, along with a unique twist
Marvel Snap’s popular and long-awaited Draft mode will go offline next week, but the wait for a new iteration won’t be long.Recommended Videos Thanks to Second Dinner, I can exclusively reveal that Draft will return just three weeks after the current run ends, on Sept. 28. Along with assumed tweaks to the existing formula, this iteration will also have its own unique wrinkle: it will use a scoring system similar to Sanctum Showdown. Image via Second Dinner In Sanctum Showdown, players must compete for one of three locations on each turn. On turns one and two, a location will be worth one point each. On turn three and beyond, one location will be worth at least four, while the other will remain one apiece. Snapping will increase the score for each turn’s main location, with a max of six points available if both players snap. The first player to 16 points wins. This is certainly going to be a departure from the initial run of Draft, as Sanctum scoring really changes how decks are chosen and how the game is played. Certain cards are much stronger, such as Guardians of the Galaxy cards that gain power when the opponent plays at the same location on that turn. It feels like this will end up being a very different-feeling version of Draft than the one we’ve been playing so far. The first few days of Draft mode this week were full of casual, silly fun, but a meta quickly took shape. Boost decks, in particular, stand tall far above the rest as the easiest one to build alongside the inherent RNG of the mode. I’ll be very curious to see how much Second Dinner balances Draft and its starter decks moving forward. One new change that I can confirm, though, is that Draft will now use every player’s favorite (starred) variant, so no more default splits on cards appearing in the mode if you so wish. The cards you’ve spent time (and money) on crafting will now be on display, and that’s a great change. I do think that Draft is the best thing to happen to Snap in quite a while, and an influx of new and returning players, as Steam charts prove, but it’s far from perfect, and I do have faith that the mode will improve over time. For now, players can look forward to a new Snap season kicking off tomorrow ahead of Draft’s return towards the end of the month.
DestructoidThe Blood of Dawnwalker Review – The best game of 2026
As soon as I saw Rebel Wolves’ first teaser for The Blood of Dawnwalker, I was immediately hooked. It’s been a long couple of years since then, and we’ve seen so many great games come and go in that time. Recommended Videos But what Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the former game director for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and his team at Rebel Wolves came up with is nothing short of amazing, and I have a feeling that this could very well be 2026’s game of the year. Whether it’s the combat, the story, the characters, or the setting, every part of The Blood of Dawnwalker screams high quality, and I genuinely believe nothing this year comes even close to it. Here is our full review. Darkness comes to the valley of blood Brencis’ iron claw rules the valley of Sangora. Image via Rebel Wolves In The Blood of Dawnwalker, you play as Coen, a Slav peasant living in a fictional valley somewhere in the Carpathian Mountains. He is of humble origin, living with his father, his siblings, and his feeble-minded mother, whom the family is desperately trying to cure. The game’s story starts right after that clip in the trailer, where Coen and his sister are rescued by a mysterious bunch of vampires led by the now-crowned Knyaz Brencis. Once a month, the people of Sangora have to pledge a pint of their blood to the vampires, and in exchange they are allowed to drink the vampires’ own blood, which cures all illnesses, most importantly the currently ravaging Black Death. This yoke comes at a cost, as Brencis has a tendency to cull the weak, meaning Coen’s own mother could soon become food for this host of darkness. One thing thus follows another, and the peasants of Laslea, Coen’s village, rebel. They try to dig up silver to use against the vampires, but their plot is unravelled after someone tips off the vampires, or vrakhiri, as the game calls them. Coen is then transformed into a vampire by Brencis to punish his father’s insolence and Coen’s participation, but something goes wrong, and Coen instead becomes a Dawnwalker — a vampire who can survive during the day. This then forms both the narrative and the gameplay core of The Blood of Dawnwalker. During the day, Coen is purely human, using swords and other weapons to fight, whereas during the night he transforms back into a vrakhir, gaining all sorts of powerful abilities like walking on walls, using his deadly quick claws to fight, and, of course, becoming reliant on drinking blood to sustain himself. Brencis, being angered by the peasants’ revolt, wants to become a King rather than stay a Knyaz and therefore sets the next month to be his coronation. Instead of merely pitching a pint of their blood, Brencis starts collecting people from across the valley for “draining,” including Coen’s family. This gives Coen 30 days to prepare for the fight with Brencis, as well as to disrupt his and his vassals’ plans. Time is of the essence Time does not pass in real time, but you are under constant pressure either way. Image via Rebel Wolves The 30-day in-game timer must be respected, and if you wish to achieve a proper ending to the game, you must complete it within this temporal framework. Time does not flow in, well, real time, but is instead divided into slots — eight for the day and eight for the night, or 16 total for each in-game day. Every core action in the game spends a slot or more, including doing quests, leveling up crucial abilities, waiting, and doing main story missions. Side content can also end up taking time, and time thus becomes a sort of currency that you spend in exchange for loot or levels or XP. This opens the game up to tremendous replayability: you won’t be able to complete all quests in time, nor will you have the chance to unlock every ability and passive in time, nor can you clear all side content and have enough time to spare. Quests also unfold differently if you spend too many slots while having them in your journal, meaning some things must be completed as soon as possible to avoid possibly dire consequences. You’re under constant pressure to pick and choose your fights and builds, and since you’re constantly prioritizing, that means you’ll inevitably have a strikingly different experience from someone else with different priorities. I absolutely loved this mechanic through and through and am genuinely excited to go back to play the game more and spend my time differently, focusing on other abilities or quests. Furthermore, some things can only be done at night and some during the day, meaning the game state is drastically altered depending on the time of day. I loved how this mechanic constantly kept shifting my gameplay around, from methodical and slow to chaotic and brutal. It was constantly fresh, and since I balanced out how long I spent in each, I was always excited to become a human or a vrakhir again. You can become Brencis’ worst nightmare if you keep disrupting his plans. Image via Rebel Wolves Time isn’t the only thing impacting your overall experience, though. Infamy, as a system, is there to make you, the player, become more of a threat to Brencis’ rule. Every now and again you will increase your Infamy level, forcing Brencis to issue a new edict that can disrupt your flow. For example, if you’ve been too naughty, Brencis decides to put more hostile patrols in cities and towns or reinstitutes old taxes and tithes to make merchant goods way more expensive. Infamy is increased by disrupting his plans, either by doing side missions that cause damage to one of Brencis’ boyars or by killing the boyars altogether and taking them out of the picture. All sorts of things can increase your Infamy level, including one of the best side quests I’ve ever played in an RPG. Go to the top of the tower while hunting for a particular book. Trust me. Infamy constantly kept shifting the goalposts for me, which I found genuinely exciting. The world reacted constantly to my activity, and consequences weren’t only tied to what I did in conversations, like in The Witcher 3. While I would’ve loved to see a lot more reactivity tied to how I behaved as a vampire, there is still a lot of impact that the player can make through sheer gameplay. I hope down the line the devs will address us, giving in to our inner beast and eating everyone we can (you can, actually, dry the blood of every single person you come into contact with as a vampire – yes, even crucial NPCs, which is just the best thing ever in my opinion). Simple combat core, but the possibilities are endless You can use swords or other weapons at any time, but claws and vampire abilities are strictly nocturnal. Image via Rebel Wolves The combat is directional and very similar to what we have in games like For Honor. If an enemy attacks from the left, you block from the left, simple as. However, there is a perfect parry system in place, allowing you to time your directional blocks to throw the enemy off their feet and get a couple of strong hits in. A lot of perks you can unlock are heavily dependent on this perfect block system, and the game encourages you to engage with it as much as you can. And so do I. It’s one of the most satisfying combat systems I’ve encountered this year and stands shoulder to shoulder with Pragmata in my eyes. When the moon rises, so do your claws emerge like a set of razor-sharp knives. Image via Rebel Wolves Every block feels so good, and once you start using your abilities, things only get better. During the day, you’re basically a swordsman (though there are axes, hammers, and other weapons). Every fight unfolds like a Hollywood duel, with you blocking and deflecting enemy attacks. You return the favor either by attacking (also directionally) or by using various swordsmanship abilities, such as charging a single enemy or using a broad swing to do AOE damage to everyone around you. It’s very methodical during the day, but chaos nonetheless emerges together with the moon. In vampire mode, combat is still directional and the same at its core. However, Coen is significantly faster and more brutal in his attacks and can, if you opt for it, use exceptionally powerful vampire abilities. From drinking blood to blinking behind an enemy’s back to eviscerating them with his claws in gruesome slow motion, Coen can truly tap into his inner vrakhir and unleash total carnage on his enemies. At night, vampires and monsters you fight will also be much more powerful and significantly faster, meaning these duels, unlike the daylight ones, play out as a true battle of the beasts. I would’ve liked to see more abilities in vampire mode if I’m being honest. Coen at times felt a bit too slow for a vrakhir, and the spells at his disposal, while amazing to play with, did not allow him to truly unlock his potential as a vampire. More abilities can be added post-launch as the devs assess player feedback, but I honestly think there should’ve been a little more oomph to the combat kit, not that it ever felt like it lacked anything overall. The parts during the day, though? Those were as good as they come. Endless lore and a gut-wrenching story Every ruin and crypt and cave hides vast tales and dark treasures. Image via Rebel Wolves Of course, being a story-driven game, The Blood of Dawnwalker banks a lot on its narrative, and the developers absolutely outdid themselves both with the setting and worldbuilding and the main story itself. Coen’s journey to save his family is absolutely gut-wrenching. He constantly blames himself for what happened and is having a tremendously hard time reconciling his new state as a vrakhir, which he, as a Christian, considers to be a form of eternal damnation. The folks he meets on his path are just as complex, and his vrakhiri side tends to alienate a lot of people around him, even if they do seem “fine” with his situation in general. There are romances, too, and one of them stood out to me so much that it almost brought a tear to my eye when I first played it. It showed me how much emotional depth there is to this game and its cast, and I’m pretty certain you’ll love them just as much as I did. Now, about the worldbuilding: the Sangora Valley is truly a one-of-a-kind place for a game like this. It has a bunch of ancient lore, which is tied to our own world and history, and somehow manages to transport the myths of the Ancient Greeks and stories of West Asia into this Carpathian duchy, crafting its own universe and historical account. The vrakhiri and uriashi and all sorts of monsters are real in this world, and they coexist, hidden away in deep crypts and tombs or in mountains far from human eyes. It’s so believable and creatively genius that I found myself genuinely surprised at times. Everything falls into place like a jigsaw puzzle, and I think we’ll be hearing about Sangora from lore YouTubers for many, many years. Almost the perfect game The game looks absolutely stunning, but that comes at a heavy performance cost. Image via Rebel Wolves The Blood of Dawnwalker does almost everything right. It has amazing gameplay, stunning graphics, a great story, and wonderful worldbuilding, but it does fail at a crucial RPG element, and that is reactivity. I’ve mentioned it above, and the devs certainly can readdress that down the line, but there should have been more to the way people react to you embracing your vrakhiri side. There is some reaction and impact on the game, but I think it should’ve reached much farther. And another thing: the performance. It’s not great. Outside of cities, it can be manageable, and I actually got up to 80 to 90 FPS with my 9070XT at 2K Native Ultra settings. However, this is only in places without many NPCs or not too much going on, and as soon as I entered Svartrau, the main city, the FPS would dip into the 30s. That’s not great, and I hope the devs can patch it up in time for release. A 60 FPS patch for consoles is already on its way, so I believe PC should also get better with time. Overall, though, The Blood of Dawnwalker is a phenomenal game in every imaginable way, and I cannot wait to hear what y’all think about it.
DestructoidPlayStation’s State of Play returns this week, and the angry internet mob is waiting for it
Sony is ready to face the furor of the internet this week when State of Play returns in two separate iterations.Recommended Videos For the first time since the announcement that PlayStation will end production of disc-based games starting in 2028, PlayStation will run two live-streamed presentations about upcoming games. The first showcase will be “featuring updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and our third-party partners, concluding with an extended look at the vast world of Final Fantasy VII Revelation from our friends at Square Enix.” Once the first State of Play ends, a State of Play Japan will take place, with “deep dives into upcoming games from game studios in Japan and Asia, including new gameplay, announcements, and more.” But that’s not really the story here, is it? Judging by the replies to the announcement on social media, a lot of the most vocal social media users are still none too pleased about the physical disc situation. PlayStation has been the subject of intense ire ever since its announcement in July, so the gaming industry and its fans will be tuning in (and angrily spamming the chat) to sound off about what’s been shown, and possibly what’s not being said at all. Will Sony address the situation at all? I doubt it, but I also wouldn’t be surprised to hear some PR-friendly jargon talking about how they hear players’ complaints. I don’t think they’ll double down on their stance, though, as I think the most likely option is that the State of Play will go off without any mention of it at all. We shall see. As far as actual games, I’m excited to see more of FF7 Revelation. Beyond that, we could see a launch trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine, and potentially some long-awaited updates on games in development (Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, where have you gone?) along the way, but a number of upcoming third-party titles set to launch throughout the end of the year taking the focus is most likely. The State of Play showcase begins on Sept. 3 at 8am CT, so grab your coffees in the US and get ready to watch along or spam the Enter key in the chatrooms to voice your displeasure.

DestructoidHow to find and catch an Energized Piranha in Palia
Palia has quite a vast collection of unique fish you can find and catch. Many of them are rather difficult to get your hands on, though, as is the case with the elusive Energized Piranha. Recommended Videos You’ll need to track down specific fish like this one to complete Bulletin Board sets, cook up various dishes, craft items, complete quests, and otherwise make progress in Palia. If you’re having trouble tracking down this one, here’s how to find and catch an Energized Piranha in Palia. Table of contentsEnergized Piranha locations in PaliaBest bait for Energized Piranha in PaliaHow to get an Energized Piranha in PaliaBest time to catch an Energized Piranha in Palia Energized Piranha locations in Palia Screenshot and remix by Destructoid Energized Piranhas can be found swimming in rivers all around Kilima Valley. Any area classified as a river within this region has a chance of dropping one when you catch a fish there, though it is a rarer drop, which means luck and random chance play a large role in how easy or difficult it is to find. Rivers you can visit and fish in to find Energized Piranhas include the one that runs from Mirror Fields down to the Kilima Village area, one slightly north of Whispering Banks, one near Maji’s Hollow, and one north of Phoenix Falls. I’ve marked all of the spots you can hunt for this fish on the map above to make this process easier. Best bait for Energized Piranha in Palia To make catching an Energized Piranha easier, use some classic Worm Bait when hunting for it. This is the best kind of bait to attract this fish, so your odds of catching one are boosted when using it. How to get an Energized Piranha in Palia Screenshot by Destructoid There are two ways to obtain an Energized Piranha in Palia. Can be caught while fishing in rivers anywhere around Kilima Valley. It’s a fairly rare fish, and this activity is always quite random and unpredictable, so there’s no way to guarantee you catch one. Is sometimes granted as a random drop from a Boovar when collecting from this creature on the Ranch. Boovars can drop a wide variety of fish, though, so this method is also random and luck-based. Best time to catch an Energized Piranha in Palia You have a shot at catching an Energized Piranha at any time of day, so you can freely go fishing for it whenever you like. Some fish, like the Stickleback, are only swimming around at certain times, but luckily, this isn’t the case for this one. If you’re up for it, there’s plenty more to tackle in Palia while you’re already wandering around hunting for this rare fish. Some good tasks to work on while you explore are getting Citrine, finding Muujimothy, completing Civic Project: Docks, catching a Kilima Grayling, and completing Do Not Go Gentle.

When mining the right types of rock nodes around certain regions, Citrine has a chance of dropping from any node you mine. It’s all luck and random chance, though, so how easy or difficult it is to find and gather is entirely dependent on these two factors. While mining, you may come across several nodes in a row that drop Citrine. Or, if luck isn’t on your side, you may only encounter one or none at all despite mining loads of rocks. There’s no way to know how the process will go for you, so all you can do is mine frequently and try your best to clear as many nodes as possible for the best odds of securing Citrine. Where to find Citrine in Palia You can find Citrine while mining just about anywhere in Palia. Here are all of the ways we know you can get your hands on this rare starstone. Mining clay and stone nodes in Kilima Valley. Mining clay and stone nodes in Bahari Bay. Mining whitestone nodes in Elderwood. Mining stone nodes on your housing plot. Screenshot by Destructoid Tips and tricks for getting Citrine in Palia Citrine is a pretty rare drop in Palia, so even when you do know how to find it, you still might have a tough time actually acquiring this item. There are some helpful methods that make the process easier, though, so here are some key tips and tricks to keep in mind when attempting to gather Citrine. Ask other players for help. As long as you’ve found at least one Citrine yourself at some point while playing Palia, you can use the Requests system to ask other players to donate some to you if they have any extra. It’s quite a rare and highly sought-after resource, so you may struggle to get any, but there are lots of hardcore players who love to help out there, so keep trying, and you may receive help eventually. Clear away all nodes. The more you mine, the better your chances are of finding Citrine, so do your best to clear away every node available to you in the regions where Citrine can spawn. Mine with friends. Join up with other random players in the server, or ask any friends you have who play to team up with you in the hunt for Citrine. Palia is a very community-focused game, so mining, like all other tasks, becomes much easier to complete with some help. There’s plenty more to get done in Palia after checking off this tricky quest. DestructoidHow to complete the Breakout Star challenge in BitLife
BitLife’s got quite an array of chaotic weekly trials for you to tackle. One of the messiest and most complex ones is the Breakout Star challenge, which pushes you to balance a life devoted to crime with one where you’re also in the spotlight. Recommended Videos While most weekly challenges contain a mix of complex and easy quests to work through, this one only has extremely daunting missions to get done, making it one of the overall toughest challenges to successfully finish. If you’re having trouble getting through it, here’s how to complete the Breakout Star challenge in BitLife. Table of contentsBitLife Breakout Star challenge walkthroughBreak out of juvie in BitLifeBecome famous in BitLifeBurgle $50k+ in cash and valuables in BitLifeBreak out of a maximum security prison in BitLifeAppear in a magazine after breaking out of a maximum security prison in BitLife BitLife Breakout Star challenge walkthrough Screenshot by Destructoid There are five goals you need to complete throughout BitLife’s Breakout Star challenge: Break out of juvie. Become famous. Burgle $50k+ in cash and valuables. Break out of a maximum security prison. Appear in a magazine after breaking out of a maximum security prison. Break out of juvie in BitLife Your first big mission in this challenge is to break out of juvie. Age up your character until you reach middle school. Then, select the Activities tab in the bottom right corner, scroll down to find the Crime section, and get to work completing crimes like burglary, shoplifting, and grand theft auto. The lighter the crime, the lower your sentence will be, and the earlier in your life you manage to be sent to juvie, the easier the minigame for escaping will be. Repeatedly work on crimes until you’re eventually caught, at which point you’ll land in juvie. Then, once you’re in juvie, work on escaping by successfully beating the escape minigame. Screenshot by Destructoid Become famous in BitLife Next up, you need to become famous. This part of the challenge is pretty open-ended, as it’s entirely up to you to decide how you want to achieve this goal. Some options you might consider are: Social media/Being an influencer Being a model Being part of a royal family Being a writer Dating a celebrity Being a musician Being a DJ Being a magician Being a reporter Being a porn star Dating royalty Being a professional athlete Being an app developer Being a politician You’ll know you’ve managed to achieve fame when you get a pop-up letting you know you have. This pop-up also highlights your level of fame so you can see how well-known you’ve become. Screenshot by Destructoid Burgle $50k+ in cash and valuables in BitLife It’s now time to burgle $50,000+ in cash and valuables. You may already have a bit of progress towards this task from earlier on in the trial if you previously chose to burgle when attempting to get sent to juvie, but you’ll likely still need to rack up more funds through additional burglary here. To get this done, select the Activities tab, choose the Crime section, and click the Burglary option. Steal valuables once you’re in, and do your absolute best to avoid getting caught until you manage to secure the $50,000 worth of valuables you need to check off this part of the challenge. Screenshot by Destructoid Break out of a maximum security prison in BitLife Next, you need to break out of a maximum security prison. First up, you need to find a way to get sent there. Generally, you’ll want to commit a big crime to make this happen, like murder. Once you’ve managed to land yourself in a maximum security prison, it’s time to try and find your way out by once again completing an escape puzzle. Since you’re in a more secure prison for a bigger crime this time around, the puzzle you have to complete to escape will be much tougher. It’s randomized every time, so all you can do is give it your all and keep trying until you make it out. Screenshot by Destructoid Appear in a magazine after breaking out of a maximum security prison in BitLife The final mission to check off in this challenge is also the easiest as long as you’re working through the steps listed here in the right order, as you now simply need to appear in a magazine after breaking out of a maximum security prison. You should have some fame leftover after breaking out of maximum security prison, so you can choose the Activities page, select Fame, and choose the Photo Shoot option to land yourself in a magazine, thus completing the final part of the Breakout Star challenge. The BitLife vault has plenty of other trials you can tackle after checking off this one if you’re looking for some other tricky tasks to work through. Next, you may want to try completing the Mean Girls challenge, the Gold Digger challenge, the Demon Slayer challenge, the Jolene challenge, and the Manic Mother challenge.

Let’s now find out the point where you get your switch. Screenshot by Destructoid How to request a trade in NBA 2K27 MyCareer mode To request a trade, you have to fulfil two conditions. Screenshot by Destructoid Complete the first season in your starter NBA team: The first season must be over for the next requirement. This will take a bit of time, but you can quicken the process by simming your matches. I don’t recommend that because it will deeply affect your in-game ratings and potential growth. Finish the offseason: The offseason has plenty of in-game activities that you can complete. However, it also marks the start of the free agency, which is when you get to make the switch. You have to sim until the All-Star game to get to the point. Before completing the switch, you can browse all the teams that are interested in signing you up. While the amount of VC you get is a key factor, it’s also important to consider the squad depth. If a team already has other options in your position, you’ll have limited minutes until you establish yourself.
DestructoidThis forgotten Rainbow Six spinoff would have thrived in a post-ARC Raiders world
The early 2020s were a liminal space in gaming, and not just because COVID wreaked havoc on our collective lives. Apex Legends was the defiant last stand of battle royales, debuting in 2019 before the genre fatigue hit with full force and no one knew exactly what was next.Recommended Videos From that weird, feverish limbo arose Rainbow Six Extraction, a forlorn spinoff pitting the Rainbow operatives against zombified bioweapons called Archaeans. At its core, Extraction has a solid structure thanks to the gunplay and operators from Rainbow Six Siege, but lacks depth. Ela and Vigil are among the familiar faces in Rainbow Six Extraction. Image via Ubisoft The potpourri of Rainbow Six and a Left 4 Dead wannabe makes for a fun way to kill time, but it’s hardly Game of the Year material. Ubisoft ceased development on it just about a year after its release. Extraction released before every other game added a PvPvE component or tried a “fresh new take” on the genre, when “extraction shooter” was almost another way to say “Escape from Tarkov.” Ubisoft was treading on barely charted waters at the time, muddling through loosely defined tenets of an arcane category. The result was like a medieval painter drawing a tiger without ever seeing one. Instead of being an extraction shooter with heavy PvE elements, Ubisoft’s title is a PvE-focused game that slightly borrows from the extraction genre—and even that was a sizable gamble at the time. There’s no scavenging for treasure to flip, no rushing to the exit because you found a rare material needed to improve your base. The stakes just aren’t that high. Failing to escape instead marks your character as MIA and costs some XP, and getting them back requires a full-scale rescue mission. You get a few mulligans thanks to the game’s impressive 20-operator lineup, even if it means having to bring lower-level reinforcements. Admittedly, Extraction handles progression pretty well. Leveling an operator unlocks more weapons (drawn largely from their pool in Siege) and improves their unique gadget, giving you more charges or a smaller cooldown. Team composition also plays a role in your strategy, so you’re encouraged to level a few operators just in case you need them. But that underlying structure doesn’t matter that much when layered on top of a repetitive, almost shallow gameplay loop. Though there is no full-fledged battle pass, the game is fairly generous with its cosmetics, offering them through missions, achievements, or in the in-game shop. Proteans—a special boss archaean that mimics operators—may drop unique skins for each character, and the weekly higher-difficulty missions award some premium currency. There is something to grind for, but it’s not enough to carry the game. Not every operator has an Archaean skin, but the ones who do can look even cooler. Screenshot by Destructoid Screenshot by Destructoid Rainbow Six Extraction fails to stick to what we now know as key genre components. The release of ARC Raiders doesn’t miraculously make Extraction a masterpiece, but its category became far more commonplace after Embark’s blockbuster broke containment. In fairness, Extraction wasn’t meant to be a full-fledged extraction shooter. It expanded on Siege‘s limited-time Outbreak mode and was called Rainbow Six Quarantine before Ubisoft changed its name due to the COVID pandemic (good call there, Ubi). But shoehorning elements from the industry’s next big bet—including its name—wasn’t just a coincidence. If Rainbow Six Extraction were in development today, it would be a lot easier to justify the investment in making it bigger and bolder, adding the depth it so desperately needs. An extraction shooter without looting or basebuilding, by today’s standards, is at best fighting an uphill battle. If Ubisoft announced a sequel tomorrow, it would be chasing a trend. ARC Raiders and Marathon could serve as inspiration for what works (and, more often, what doesn’t), dissolving the fear of more complex systems. Extraction’s PvE-only focus could also serve as an approachable introduction to the genre or funnel players into Rainbow Six Siege. It does the “Rainbow Six” part well, even if the “Extraction” leaves a lot to be desired. Image via Ubisoft But selling fans on Extraction was already difficult the first time around, and you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression. Convincing players that trust us, we’ll get it right this time can be tough on any developer, and Ubisoft isn’t exactly overflowing with goodwill. Even if the winds are more favorable now than they were four years ago, Ubisoft isn’t likely to make room for a hypothetical Rainbow Six Extraction franchise. The publisher wasted a big chance by being too quick to the punch, making something too narrow in scope and too shallow in gameplay to make an impact. Siege’s zombie-ridden sibling is MIA, and I doubt anyone is coming to its rescue.

DestructoidCreative Assembly plans ’10 or so years’ of Total War: Warhammer 40K
At Gamescom, I got to play Total War: Warhammer 40,000 early. I covered my impressions in our newsletter’s special edition, which you should totally subscribe to, but now I wanna talk about all of what I saw (and heard) during the whole ordeal. Recommended Videos The most interesting part, of course, is what Creative Assembly plans to do with this franchise. At the moment, all that the devs could reveal to me is that TW: Warhammer 40K comes out sometime in 2027. When that will happen exactly is still under wraps, but from what I saw with the game and its level of completion, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was ~June 2027 at the earliest, if not fall release season next year. Furthermore, I was told that CA is aiming for “10 or so years” of Total War: Warhammer 40,000. What that means exactly is, again, a bit of a mystery, but it could very well be a similar structure to what it followed while developing the Warhammer Fantasy trilogy. Those games were released within six years, around three years between each, and the last one’s been supported for the last four. The UI was markedly different than what you see here, with the devs heavily iterating on what the UX should be like. Image via CA With the End Times now being added into Total War: Warhammer 3, I’d say that the 10-year support cycle is slowly coming to a close for the trilogy, with CA then pivoting to give its all to supporting Warhammer 40K. We could thus see a second game sometime in 2030, then a third game in 2023, and then four or five years of continuous support to that last title, which means I’d be near 40 by the time CA ends its development of this new series. Now, as for the game itself, I think it’s actually the best Total War I’ve played since Shogun 2. We got to control the Space Marines across three game modes: a tailored tutorial to teach us the long and short of the mechanics, a few turns of the campaign, and a challenge battle which I was apprently the fourth player out of hundreds to beat. The battles, at least for the Space Marines, are a combination of taking cover and using your units’ bulky HP and power to whittle the enemies down and take on super large crowds at once. When things get shaky, the orbital support of Imperial ships comes in handy, with lasers and cluster strikes ravaging huge waves of greenskins. The Ultramarines were a default faction, but I immediately made my own. Image via Creative Assembly The Space Marines have a wide variety of units fit for every situation, and as the campaign showed us, you can finally recruit them without having to have them attached to a lord or general. Speaking of generals, they’re back to being full-blown units rather than single persons, with their own entourage of specially powered soldiers. I didn’t get to see proper heroes or legendary units, but the Space Marines don’t really need those, being literal angels and all that. Dreadnaughts and Leman Russes were also in the battles and the campaign, serving as mobile frontline units that can take a heavy beating from melee Orks but are also susceptible to anti-vehicle missiles that CA equipped the ravaging greenskins with. The campaign map is separated into sectors, each of which has a garrison, but not all of the sectors can be attacked traditionally (at least not in this build). Only major settlements were interactable, but I did see the Space Marine faction having an outpost of sorts in one of its sectors, meaning you could probably build and expand to sectors eventually. Zooming in to see the absolute butchery on display was one of the most satisfying moments of Gamescom 2026 for me. Image via CA Each planet has a bunch of major settlements and sectors you need to deal with, and each system has a bunch of planets, and then we’ll probably have segmentums that themselves are full of different systems (didn’t see these, unfortunately), meaning this game is happening on a scale never seen before in Total War. It’s also the first 18+ Total War game, and trust me, that’s for a good reason. The new engine was tailor-made for the Warhammer 40K setting, and every single bodypart can be torn off every single individual unit and has fully simulated physics, meaning heads and arms and legs can be bouncing off buildings and walls and land anywhere on the map. I had so much fun with it that 45 minutes just wasn’t enough, especially since the Space Marines were so customizable (I made my own Blood Ravnes) and overpowered with the drop pods and orbital supports. I cannot wait to see more, but that won’t happen before 2027.
DestructoidBest way to start your career in Big Ambitions
Big Ambitions has plenty of changes in the full version, but getting a smooth start remains as tough as ever. If you’re going with a custom save, you can make things easier for yourself, but there’s no such option with the story mode.Recommended Videos In this guide, I will go through a method that has been working well for me. It might be slightly boring, but it will immediately turn you into a money magnet. How to get the best start in Big Ambitions To get an easy start, you’ll want to have $40,000-$50,000. Needless to say, you won’t have that right at the beginning, and working your way to that figure will seem impossible. Image via Hovgaard Games Instead, your best shot is to go for a loan. If you don’t qualify for it, work for a few days at any place, and you’ll qualify for the loan. Once you get the money, it’s time to get a retail shop with 30 customer slots or more. Make sure to rent one that has decent traffic. With the rest of the money, open a gym. Image via Hovgaard Games Our aim here is to not maintain Gold’s Gym. Instead, we will go for cheaper options with priority going towards variety. Having more options is key in the beginning. Once we have more money, we can always opt for expensive equipments. However, variety is key to stop customers from complaining. Keep the gym open for 24 hours and on all seven days. Go for four cleaners and four trainers at least. Go for six-hour shifts daily instead of eight hours. Make sure that there’s no hour being missed as you schedule the rotation. That’s all you have to do to earn more money than you’ll ever need. What’s even better is that you don’t need to do anything extra, and the businesses require no maintenance. This is a nice setup to build on as you expand your business empire.
DestructoidThe Wolf Among Us 2 devs talk evolving the series while keeping the core intact
At Gamescom this year, I got to check out The Wolf Among Us 2, the long-awaited sequel to one of Telltale’s best games, and, naturally, one of the best games of all time. It’s been a long 13 years since the first title came out, and a lot has happened between then and now, but, as the devs opened the conversation up, it’s only been six months in-universe. Recommended Videos “[It’s been] roughly six months. But yeah, it’s enough time that you can see how the events of the first game have shaped what’s going on now and how things have played out. But not so much time that you’re separated from that part of the experience. It’s a true sequel that follows the first game,” the devs said. “All the events that played out are still fresh in [the characters’] memory.” The Big Bad Wolf keeps his iconic look and presence 13 years later. Image via Telltale Games I immediately jumped at the opportunity to dig for answers about the first game’s ambiguous ending, which, despite community efforts, has never been resolved. I asked whether the “echoes” of the first game are still felt, which, depending on player choices, could have turned very, very violent by the end of the game. But the devs didn’t want to reveal too much. “In terms of how we’re reflecting your choices or not, we haven’t discussed how it may or may not impact your influence or story here. But given that it’s a direct sequel, and they’re the same characters, and some of them were there. Dot, dot, dot.” In the hands-off preview, Bigby Wolf was investigating an apartment with Faye, a detective working a case to which Wolf was assigned. Faye is a mundy, meaning a regular human who isn’t at all aware of Fables or magic in New York. In one situation, Wolf can choose to reveal the world of magic to her or keep it a secret, which is a cool moment that explores the choice-and-consequence system of the game. However, what my mind went to is: what is Faye’s role in the story? And thus I asked the devs whether or not she’s supposed to be a replacement for Snow White, who similarly accompanies Wolf on cases and keeps his beast at bay. “Snow is also here,” the devs said. “So she’s going to be present in that role. But we cannot give too many details.” The Wolf Among Us 2 expands on the detective work. Image via Telltale Games One major divergence of The Wolf Among Us 2 from the original title is the new camera perspective. Compared to TWAU1, this game has a third-person perspective and controller, allowing the player to lead Wolf themselves instead of relying on fixed angles. I then asked the devs to tell me whether this results in a major impact on level design, since the fixed camera angles turned the original game into a wave of corridors for the most part. “So in Wolf 1 we had the cameras with more fixed, static, and generally isometric views. And you’re essentially walking around and exploring the stage set.” “In terms of what we’re doing here, it’s allowing us to put the player more in Bigby’s shoes to walk around and explore the world. It’s allowing us to do a greater depth of immersion in terms of fulfilling that fantasy of the detective who’s investigating the crime scene.” “It provides more opportunities for visual storytelling to kind of showcase the visuals. We don’t require a cinematic to cut in and show it. So there are a lot more subtleties in terms of how it needs to be filled in. It allows for more player agency; how do they want to consume the content? It’s not everything displayed in front of you.” “It’s just, I’m going to click down the line if you need to look for it, find it, and discover the points that can impact it.” The developers are making a point of being an evolution of the first game as well as a sequel, with 13 years having passed between the games. Gaming has changed by a significant margin since, and what’s acceptable and polished has shifted a lot. And so, the devs went in-depth about what they’re evolving beyond just the camera, and it turns out a lot of systems were subject to change. “We have other systems as well from Wolf 1 that we’re kind of evolving. We’ll have our inventory system, kind of pushing that. [But] we’re not necessarily like, I have to manage my inventory because that’s not the type of game we’re doing at all.” “And we are evolving our Book of Fables from Wolf 1, which was based on codex entries. So you would meet a character, you’d get a little word from them, and that was it. And we’re pushing this further now, where the codices are evolving over time and may be different based on my experience. So maybe it’s how it’s describing Snow’s story through the game, because in my choice, this is one way where what you’re seeing is slightly different because of how you interact with it.” “So it’s a little bit more interactive in this sense, and it acts as our casebook as we’re investigating potentially different scenes, accumulating information, and allowing the player who likes that type of thing. It’s not required reading, but they’re able to kind of dig deeper in terms of the investigation and draw some conclusions.” “Maybe it helps them figure out what has been solved.” The striking noir aesthetic of Art Deco New York is just as beautiful as it was in 2013. Image via Telltale Games With all of these elements in mind, I asked whether the devs saw The Wolf Among Us 2 as more of an expansion to the original experience rather than being something entirely new and also wondered if the scale and scope of the story will thus be much larger and broader than it was in The Wolf Among Us 1. And the devs told me it’s going to be within “the same Telltale time range in terms of hours of play.” The major difference here will be that TWAU2‘s episodes will all drop at the same time. It maintains the episodic structure but won’t be a weekly thing like it was in 2013, which could then have some impact on how the episodes and their stories unfold. “You might spend a little bit more time in these moments because we’re kind of adding some puzzles, but at the same time it’s… For the type of player that you are, you can move through things at different paces.” “[A player can be like:] I don’t like puzzles, therefore I’m going to skip forward, or I’m going to sit here and read every single piece of text. So within a scale of how you’re experiencing the game, you can kind of go at your own pace.” “The game was originally made in 2013. We’re getting 14 years later by the time it comes out. It’s evolving because the games in general have changed. So we want to be honoring the original game. We’re getting forward so players are coming back and playing something familiar. But we’re making the changes where necessary.” “And our new fans who are coming in aren’t going to be playing, like, this feels like a game from 10 years ago. So it’s got to evolve and be a little different. But not to the point where it feels like a different game altogether.” Many recognizable characters are coming back, and so are their voice actors. Image via Telltale Games The Wolf Among Us 2 is a direct sequel, set only six months away from the tales of the first title in-universe. Even so, the devs said that this can just as well be enjoyed as a standalone experience, with players allowed to start with the sequel if they so desire. “Wolf 1 is not required to enjoy this game. It’s kind of standalone in that. We’re going to do as much as reading a book where we don’t rehash the whole first game type of thing. It’ll be introducing the characters, still setting the stage. But I think fans who are returning will also feel satisfaction of coming back. There are also specific elements that I think are really enjoyable to experience.” “For the characters who are returning, we have the same voice cast for all of them returning. And that’s very exciting, at least to me, to be able to hear, oh, these are the same performers this many years apart reprising these characters and getting that aspect of it as well. From the team side and the development side, seeing that continuity is really enjoyable too.” Paying attention to everything and solving puzzles will be core to the experience. Image via Telltale Games Now, finally, I got to exploring the idea of the sequel’s choice-and-consequence structure compared to the first game. In TWAU, it often felt like your choices echoed right on the spot, rather than coming back to bite you in the a** hours later like in RPGs or other choice-and-consequence games. I asked whether this is going to be the same in TWAU2, and the devs said they’re focusing more on reactivity rather than the traditional choice X-consequence Y structure. “People say consequence. I prefer reactivity. There’s a bigger breadth of what that means. It can be the culmination of all my choices and this epic ending, but it can also be that minutia of, as I’m moving around the world, what are the NPCs saying because of my choices?” “Even in what we saw right here, depending on the choices you make and how Faye’s interacting with you, is that immediacy? Is it a longer tale? We’re looking at that nuance, which is also sustainable for us to be able to support because there is a web, and half my job is, what is the web? How do we connect to making sure there are the payoffs to the things that we’re doing and avoiding false promises?” And to my last question about whether we’ll have any answers about the first game’s ending, no matter how small, I was just told the legendary line: “Silence is a valid option.”
Destructoid1666: Amsterdam interview – The beauty of early access and how randomness improves replayability
At Gamescom 2026, I got to sit down and talk with Patrice Desilets, the creator of the Assassin’s Creed franchise and the lead developer on his new game, 1666: Amsterdam. We talked about a wide variety of topics regarding the game: its approach to gameplay through a roguelike system of randomness, historicity, and what players can expect in terms of optimization. Recommended Videos And he opened up the conversation by saying that “randomness is one of the core elements” of 1666: Amsterdam. “It surprises you, and no two runs are the same,” he told me, adding that the mechanic is grounded in the lore since Cleo, the modern-day protagonist, is deciphering a book about Noah and what’s happening in the game but still does not understand it. And so, the randomness comes out of Cleo’s “guesses” of the translation and the book’s contents, which then translates into the gameplay. “It’s just to let the player experience the game in different ways. But you can always pick the same [perk],” Desilets said. He further explained that players can tailor the experience to their own style, selecting perks and abilities that best fit their idea of how the game should unfold. Between Esbat, players will be given the chance to lock down one ability that they particularly liked, Desilets said, so not everything has to be randomized. 1666: Amsterdam puts heavy focus on randomization and combat. Image via Panache Digital The game can also change when you lose your abilities and have to roll the dice again, forcing you to adapt to your current situation. “It feels like it’s really, oh, because I had this in random, I have to change my mindset and play differently, instead of just going through ability trees that we’ve made for you. Balancing everything out and reaching the desired level is difficult, said Desilets, and that is what makes early access the “perfect” way to approach developing a game like this. “Is it a challenge? For sure. And this is why it’s perfect to be in early access, because it tells us how we can make this system better. And so, we’ll have feedback, we’ll have data, and we can maybe eventually say, okay, now we found a way,” he said. “And the community is helping us out, instead of just us being really like the [only] designer.” The randomization system has already seen major developments since I last saw the game in Amsterdam last month. If you die, you do lose all your stuff, but you’re immediately given a new “lottery” to choose new perks before you go ahead with the game, meaning the blow has been significantly softened as the game evolved. Rolling the worst possible combination of abilities and perks will also be covered by the witchcraft system, as well as exploration, which will help you craft items and potions to get ahead of the curve if your current setup isn’t the best cut for your situation. “There’s always the witchcraft table, and it depends on which recipe you have. But it’s a bit like ‘Explore, and you’ll have a lot more,'” Desilets said. Image via Panache Digital Games We went on to talk about stealth and how his past experience with Assassin’s Creed maps onto what he’s trying to achieve in 1666: Amsterdam. Stealth, obviously, was a major part of AC but not so much here. “It’s not a stealth game, but you’ve got to be careful,” he said. “We’re still working on the detection inside houses and how people react. The suspicion level right now is mellow. It doesn’t take too much [to trigger], but you have to do something, rather than just transforming.” Desilets added that 1666, even if combat can be a viable way out of every situation, is “not just a combat game.” “The more you fight, the tougher it gets with the reputation system,” he explained. I then asked about the reputation system and whether it has any other consequences for your gameplay rather than just making the fights harder, and I got a resounding “no,” but Desilets nevertheless said that the team has a bunch of ideas about how to expand the system down the line. “This is what we delivered right now, is that we have to front-load all the systems. Now we have them. Now it’s just a matter of playing with them and maybe adding one or two, or three [systems], or whatever the number,” he said. “I didn’t want to create that game that it’s all about, oh, you go out and you be just the witch that can fight all the time and go through all the situations like that. I think for me it was important that sometimes you are the civilian, and it’s to play between the two. And if it was as soon as you got the witch, everything goes, then you wouldn’t be the witch as much, or the same thing the other way around.” “If you can do everything as a witch, so why would you be a civilian? So it’s a fine balance between the two. But it’s not like you have to manage your reputation throughout the city. As of now, it’s not the case,” he said. Image via Panache Digital Games In early access at least, these systems aren’t there yet, and Desilets said the team plans for the title to remain as such for about 12 months. Is that definitive? Of course not, Desilets explained, because “it’s never definitive in game development.” “The idea is to be at least, yes, a year in early access. We also have the roadmap of when, not precisely when, but there are four phases of upgrades throughout the year. And the idea is in around 12 months to be 1.0 and to ship.” The 1.0 version should, Desilets said, ship on all platforms at the same time to mark the end of early access. Early access, at the moment, contains only one district of Amsterdam out of a planned four as big as the one currently available and one bigger one. So far, you can experience Esbats (cycles) and fight three Originals. Furthermore, 12 hours are planned for the 1999 period of the game, though, as the director explains, that will be small and very mission-focused rather than letting players do a full open-world in two distinct time periods. Image via Panache Digital Games Since the game is set within a very specific historical framework, I wondered which major historical figures from Dutch or European history we would meet. After all, it was Desilets himself who introduced us to Niccolo Machiavelli and Leonardo Da Vinci and Rodrigo Borgia in AC2 and Brotherhood and even made them crucial parts of the overarching narrative. He didn’t want to say too much but told me that Rembrandt, one of the most renowned Dutch painters, would be a major figure in the story. Even so, Desilets added that 1666 is markedly different from Assassin’s Creed. Whereas the latter was a “parallel history,” as he describes it, 1666: Amsterdam is a fantasy game that is coincidentally framed within a specific time period. “It’s not a historical game. Assassin’s Creed was. That was the guideline. It’s real. It’s just a parallel history or narrative. Here it’s like a fantasy game set in a historical context. Or being inspired by a historical setting, which is a bit different,” Desilets explained. As for the combat, Desilets said Noah’s “main weapon is the broom” but that spells and various abilities can be discovered and unlocked as a player progresses. He played a bit of the game in front of me, and there I saw enemies get levitated and smashed into the ground as well as petrified and opened to Noah’s relentless attacks. Props can be exploded to do massive AOE damage, and a lot of cool and interesting abilities can be cast at enemies. Down the line, though, anything could happen, Desilets said. Being an early access game, there are so many ideas the developers have in mind, both for the combat and for other aspects of gameplay, but he did not want to overshare or overpromise on anything at this point in time. Image via Panache Digital Games Lastly, I got to asking about the performance. 1666: Amsterdam has a ~65 percent positive score on Steam, meaning mixed reviews, and most of the negative ones are complaining about performance. I inquired about what the devs’ plans are to respond to such a lukewarm reception, especially spurred by performance woes. “[Our] people in Montreal are already working on patches. The idea is that we want to update the game and make it more performant. Everything as quick as possible. Then you receive frequent updates. So it’s not only every three months you’ll receive a big one with new elements. Then maybe new problems are also attached with it.” “It’s really, no, no. We’re receiving all the data. We’re receiving all of this. And it’s all about fixing it as soon as possible. And the beauty of it is that it’s a bit about how we work.” “I feel it’s the beauty of early access. It’s tough because you totally have the right to complain. But us, our job is to fix and make your life better.” Desilets finally indicated that the game is probably going to get more expensive as time goes by and closed the conversation off by saying that “right now it’s the cheapest you can have the game.” “So buy now and don’t worry about it.”
DestructoidBest My Party is Grinding class tier list
My Party is Grinding might seem like a casual RPG, but there’s plenty of depth surrounding the different classes available in the game. Each class offers something unique when it comes to their respective abilities, but not all of them perform equally well.Recommended Videos In this guide, I will quickly go through which classes are strong and which ones are not. Table of contentsComplete My Party is Grinding class tier listS-tierA-tierB-tier Complete My Party is Grinding class tier list My Party is Grinding has five different classes, with four locked at first. To judge the classes, I have used three different tiers. S-tier classes are pretty much the best possible choices in terms of their in-game abilities and strengths. A-tier classes are decent choices (can raise to S-tier with the right equipment). B-tier classes will require plenty of extra effort for you to fit them in a team. Image via Superlink Inc S-tier Assassin: Absolutely overpowered in terms of its abilities and strengths. It has amazing damage, and some of its skills can also do AOE effects. The Assassin typically does well against single enemies like bosses, which makes this class the best choice in the current game. Strangely enough, it can also have decent health with certain gear parts. That should not be normal in the first place, but hey, the game allows for that, and I am not complaining. Mage: Has the highest number of element-based attacks that you can exploit in specific situations. While the builds are much more situational compared to those of the assassins, you can exploit weaknesses of specific bosses. Moreover, many attacks have decent AoE potential, which is a bonus. Just pay attention to the health of the class since HP is not one of the stronger areas. Image via Superlink Inc A-tier Warrior: The Warrior is the best melee class if you want a balance between attack and defense. With the correct gear setup, you can make the Warrior play the role of a tank, as it can absorb a lot of incoming damage. It’s certainly better than the Knight at doing so. Offensively, it has a wide variety of skills to get the better of the enemies it faces during a battle. Overall, this is not a bad class at all, and it’s a good choice for beginners and veterans alike. Archer: The Archer excels at attack, and it also offers the highest range among all classes. I love the class for the pure fact that it can do different elemental attacks if you set it up correctly. Health will be a concern at higher stages, but it’s nothing that’s not manageable. B-tier Knight: I wish I could have added this class to C-tier if I could. The only positive about this class is that it’s relatively easy to build, and you don’t have to do anything extra to unlock it. The class has shockingly low tanking potential, which is absurd in one way. Unless the Knight gets a buff anytime soon, it’s best to replace it as quickly as possible.
