Dell launches Intel Wildcat Lake laptop up to 2.8K 120Hz display, competitor to Macbook Neo

Published: Today, 07:12 GMT WhyCry Dell 14S targets the sub-$699 laptop market with Intel Wildcat LakeDell has announced another 14-inch laptop powered by Intel’s Wildcat Lake processors. The new Dell 14S, model DS14270, is positioned below the XPS 13 and will be available later this fall.The Dell 14S will be offered with either an Intel Core 5 320 or Core 7 350 processor, both paired with integrated Intel Graphics. Both are Wildcat Lake chips with six cores and six threads, combining two Performance cores with four Low Power Efficient cores. There are no standard E-cores. The Core 5 320 boosts its P-cores to 4.6 GHz and LP E-cores to 3.4 GHz, while the Core 7 350 increases those frequencies to 4.8 GHz and 3.6 GHz. Both have 6MB of Intel Smart Cache and a 15W Processor Base Power, with a Maximum Turbo Power of 35W.Memory options include 8GB or 16GB of soldered LPDDR5X-7647 running in single-channel mode, while storage configurations start at 256GB and extend to 512GB and 1TB PCIe SSDs. Up to a 2.8K 120Hz displayDell has two display options. The base configuration uses a 1920×1200 panel running at 60Hz with 300-nit brightness. An upgraded 2880×1800 display increases the refresh rate to 120Hz and brightness to 450 nits. There are two 10Gbps USB Type-C ports with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, HDMI 1.4 and a 3.5mm audio connector. Wireless connectivity depends on the configuration, with Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 6E available.Dell claims up to 23 hours of Netflix streamingDell uses a 61.2Wh battery and claims up to 23 hours of Netflix streaming. The company is also introducing an optional battery using a new cell design intended to reduce heat and slow degradation.
